Multiple suspected gas blasts and fires across North Boston have caused mass evacuations.
Emergency crews in the US have responded to the explosions which have damaged homes across three communities in the north of the state. At least 20 homes are thought to have been on fire in Massachusetts, according to police chief Joseph Solomon. He said there were so many fires “you can’t even see the sky”.At least one home has been demolished and several others have caught fire amid a problem with a gas line that feeds homes in Andover, North Andover and Lawrence, the Eagle-Tribune newspaper said. Massachusetts police said troopers were responding to the area to help secure the areas. Lawrence police chief Roy Vasque said he had “never seen anything like this”.
